Sarah "Sally" Hughes (nee Duffy) passed away peacefully at her daughter Therese and her son-in-law Rick's home on February 22, 2020 surrounded by her family. Loving wife of the late G. Paul. Loving mother of SallyAnn Natalizio (Bart), Margaret "Mimi" Fanelli (Gary), Kathy Magistrini (Lou), Paul, and Therese Hughes-Hendriksen (Rick). Grandmother of Kerri, Brett, Shea, Kelly, Tracy, Anthony, Andrea, Jennifer, Michael, Patrick, Brittany, and Ryan and 14 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Marguerite "Moxie" McCutcheon. She was predeceased by her grandson,  Nicholas and brothers Paul and John. Sally was born in Philadelphia, PA, raised in Upper Darby, PA and was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls.  A devout Catholic her entire life, she lived in Somerset from 1965-2011 before moving to a retirement community in Warminster,  PA for eight years.  Sally r eturned to Somerset to live with her daughter Therese and her son-in-law Rick, in February 2019. Sally was extremely active in the St. Matthias Catholic Church. Sally was also the Business Manager for St. Pius X Regional High School from 1973-1987. She was a 2003 recipient of the Pro Deo et Ecclessia Medal for Distinguished and Outstanding Service to God and the Church.  Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. Matthias Catholic Church ( 168 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Somerset, NJ 08873) from 9:15AM-10:45AM. Followed by her Funeral Mass at 11AM. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to St. Matthias Catholic Church, Somerset NJ, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
