SOPHIA F. "Sunny" (nee TONCHI), age 99, January 18, 2025. Loving wife of the late William J. Bradley, Sr. Beloved mother of Francine Bradley, William Bradley, Jr., and Joan Byrne (Lawrence). Dear grandmother of Kevin, Meghan (Ryan), and Brendan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jean Ryan, Sue Helmuth, George Tonchi, John Tonchi and Maria Dennis.
Sophia's parents arrived in the United States in 1923. She grew up in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia with her siblings and went to Girls' High. She worked as an inspector in the production department at GlaxoSmithKline (formerly Smith, Kline and French). After staying home to raise her children, she returned to the company until her retirement in 1990 and often spoke fondly about memories of her job and friendships with co-workers.
Over the years, Sophia loved gardening, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku and trips to the casinos. Christmas was an especially favorite time of year as was spending time at the shore in Wildwood Crest with her husband Brad (Bill), children and grandchildren. Many memories were made at the shore and she enjoyed the company of her Louisville Avenue neighbors.
