Beloved wife of Jay.  Devoted mother of Richard Shevlin and Stephanie Estel (Tim), dear Mimi to Sophia, Daniel, and Rose; also survived by her sister Mary Gerlach.  Sophia had a long and successful career at Strawbridge & Clothier in cosmetics where she met and remained life long friends with the best group of women she could ever hope for.  She loved to read and spend time on her deck which was like walking into a beautiful garden thanks to her green thumb.  Equal was her love for animals and her many furry family members over the years.  She was mostly known for her wit and the ability to make everyone she knew or came in contact with feel happy and at ease.  She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather Sunday, July 22, 2018, 2:00 PM Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114, followed by her Memorial Service 4:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111 in her memory would be appreciated.
