Stephen Louis Ponente, Sr., passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, surrounded by his family at home.  Steve was 73 years old. Son of the late Francis and Doris Ponente.  Devoted husband of 51 years to Michele (nee Nicholl) and the loving father of Nicole Westervelt (Todd), Tina Koch (Bob), Stephen Jr. (Amber), and Regina Fanelle (Bart). Cherished Pop to his 13 grandchildren: Connor, Chloe, Bryce, Sean, Tate, Brendan, Roman, Blair, Drew, Leo, Adriana, Massimo, and Louis. Dear brother to Joanne Nicastro (Vince), Frances Podgorski (Joe), and the late Denise Mastrosante. He will be greatly missed by his in-laws Joanne (the late Mike), Jeanette (the late Don), Nancy (Mike), and Helen (Jon), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A proud retired carpenter with Local 122, Stephen dedicated over 30 years of service to his craft. An avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, Stephen enjoyed boating, fishing, crabbing, cooking, and spending time with his family at Pot Nets in DE. There, you would often find him relaxing on the porch.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Albert the Great Church, 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA, followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the St. Albert the Great Church Memorial Fund or Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111, in Stephen's memory.
