Steven J. Mather, age 55, of Hermosa Beach, California, passed peacefully on March 2, 2020 at his home.  He succumbed to cancer after a brave battle. Born on July 2, 1964, in Philadelphia to parents Loretta (nee Moroz) and the late Walter, Steve is survived by his two adored sons Ryan and Dylan, younger siblings Barbara Levengood (Paul), Gary (Irene), Debra, and Brian (Lauren), loving partner and best friend Judy Petraitis, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and coworkers from around the world.  Steve attended Drexel University and later University of Southern California where he graduated with honors, ultimately achieving many successes in the business world.  He enjoyed his lifelong soccer triumphs and competition, along with coaching his sons.  He believed in doing your best, being your best and demonstrated this in the finest example.  Steve made his impact through loving actions.  He is a model of kindness, hard work, leadership, passion, excellence, trust, inspiration, and courage.  He is a champion for all to emulate and respect.  Good times.  "Do your best." -Steve Mather. Viewing and gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19114.  Mass at St. Katherine of Siena Church will follow at 10:30 AM.  Interment will occur at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, PA. A future celebration of life event shall be planned for West Coast friends and family.
