Thomas J. Hofstaedter (75) passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2023 in Mesa, Arizona. Thomas, fondly known as Tom, was born to the late William Frederick and Mary Victory Hofstaedter, on November 20, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Tom graduated from North Catholic High School in 1968 and was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. He proudly served in the 11th Armored Cavalry/37th Medical Company and was awarded the Purple Heart. Tom went on to work at the Burns Funeral Home for over 30 years. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, known to make friends everywhere he went, and always had a joke to tell.
Tom is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Lilian" (née Dormans), of 48 loving years. Devoted and proud father of Sandrina Shive (Travis), Charissa Worthy (Wade) and Kyle Hofstaedter (Meaghan). He was most proud to spoil his grandchildren: Zoё, McKenzie, Sloane, Piper, Maverick, Delaney, and Gunner. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie. He is survived by siblings, many nieces and nephews as well as cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114 on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM. There will also be a viewing at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad St, Hilltown Township, PA 18927, from 10:00 AM-10:45 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tom's favorite charity

to assist Veterans in need.
