Thomas H. Whittle, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2015. Born in Philadelphia to the late Thomas and Dorothy Whittle, Tom resided in Levittown, PA with his late wife Muriel, of 60 years. Tom was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Army Air Force in Alaska. He worked in Philadelphia Gas Works until retirement in 1982. Tom enjoyed family trips to Disney World, crabbing with his grandchildren, walking the boardwalk and dancing the jitterbug with his late wife. Predeceased by his brother James, Tom is survived by his son Thomas J. Whittle and wife Eileen; his daughter Dorothy McElhare and husband Dennis, and his daughter Maria Hannigan and husband Walter. "Pop-pop" is adoringly remembered by many grandchildren; Bernadette Logue (Shane), Dennis McElhare (Kathleen), Jennifer Christine (Michael), Erin Pasowski (Danny), Thomas Whittle (Eno), Matthew Whittle (Natasha) and Lauren Karczewski (Glen). He was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren; Scott, Amanda, Emily, Elizabeth, Samantha, Erica, Kevin, Allison, Kieran, Ryan, Alexandra and Aidan. Tom will be remembered by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday 9 AM at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 1514 Woodbourne Rd. Levittown, PA 19057 followed by his Service 10:30 AM. Interment Resurrection Cem.
