Obituary

Loving husband of 61 years to Madeleine (Keaton). Beloved Son of the late John and Elizabeth Fox. Devoted father to William Jr. (Maryellen), John (Patricia), Michael (Joy), Joseph (Susan) and Madeleine Farrell (Christopher). Cherished grandfather of 19 and great-grandfather of five. Brother of Ellen Powell, Elizabeth O'Connell, and the late John; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bill was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School Class of '46. Longtime resident of the Somerton section of Philadelphia for 56 years. He owned and operated an automotive business successfully for many years and finished his career as an Insurance Claims Manager. His community activities centered around Saint Christopher's Parish which included being a Leader of the Senior Citizens Group, Eucharistic Ministry and Senior Altar Server, St. Vincent DePaul, CYO Basketball coach and Boy Scout Troop 367. He was instrumental in the development of the Somerton Youth Organization as President and coached many young men in football, basketball and baseball where his focus was on having a good time. Pop was an avid Phillies fan. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing IN CHURCH Friday evening from 6 to 9 P.M. at Saint Christopher's Roman Catholic Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116 and on Saturday Morning, 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at Burns Funeral Home, 9708 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114 followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Christopher's Church. Int. Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's name may be sent to St. Christopher's Needy Student Fund at the above address.
