IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William G.
Ricks "Bill"
September 21, 1951 – July 27, 2024
William (Bill) George Ricks, 72, of Yardley, PA, passed away on July 27, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
Bill was born on September 21, 1951 to William George Ricks, Sr. and Doris Murphy Ricks, in Philadelphia, PA.
Bill joined the Navy after graduating from George Washington High School in Philadelphia. He went on to retire from the Navy to join the Air Force, and then the Air Force National Guard. He retired from the military after serving proudly for 40 years. He loved travelling with his fellow reservists and spoke often of their adventures.
In 1971, he married Frances Josephine Osik, and had two daughters, Tiffany Laura Ricks, and Jessica Frances Ricks. Fran predeceased Bill in 2005. Bill was a devoted, hardworking father who especially enjoyed his daughters' high school dances, and indulged them as any loving father would.
In 2007, Bill met Connie Dierks, and they married in 2012, when they both retired, and spent their life traveling and just having a wonderful life together. They always spoke of how lucky they were to have found each other.
Bill was a fun-loving, deeply-caring man, always upbeat and positive about whatever life brought him. Everyone who met him instantly liked him. He enjoyed entertaining and was a wonderful host, always making sure his guests were happy. He loved being outdoors, especially in summer, and enjoyed biking on the canal in spring and fall. Even though he loved the heat of summer, he indulged Connie every winter by going to New Hampshire or Colorado to ski. He didn't ski; however, he enjoyed snowmobiling and just hanging out in the ski lodge, having a beer or his favorite single-malt Scotch.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Fran, his son-in-law, Michael Lepre, and his granddaughter, Rosalyn Lepre. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie, his daughters, Tiffany and Jessica, his son-in-law, Michael Fontaine, his grandchildren, Turner Fontaine, Luke Fontaine, Jeffrey (Taegan) Bowers, Kiara Lepre, and great-grandchildren, Juniper and Lilith Bowers. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim (Mary Beth) and Michael (Donna), his Aunt Dorothy, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Eric Dierks (Jillian) and Karen Dierks (Dave), and step-grandchildren, Noa and Eli Dierks.
